Why this exists
I have a portfolio of projects that I want to see what people do on them, but I do not like using tracking cookies to do this, so a lot of services were cut out.
I enjoy building projects, and worked on this to monitor all of my projects.
That is the whole brief. Nothing about Tastatur is designed to win a feature comparison against the large analytics platforms, because the reason for building it was that those platforms already ruled themselves out.
It also explains the shape of the thing. A tool built for someone with a handful of side projects has to install in one line, run on a small box, and never need attention. It has no reason to add a data-warehouse integration or an audience-segmentation builder, and it has every reason to be honest about what cookieless measurement genuinely cannot do, because the person reading those caveats is the person who wrote them.
Tastatur is free software under the AGPL-3.0. Run it yourself, read every line, or use the hosted version and let someone else keep it patched. The source is public, which is the only reason any of the privacy claims on this site are worth more than a promise.
